Our Solutions team interacts with nearly everyone in the industry. We work with our Specification team, lighting designers, architects, contractors, distributors, engineers and artists to develop lighting fixture recommendations, layouts and photometric calculations for a wide range of projects–from a small healthcare facility to large, multilevel commercial buildings.
We review building layouts for clients and make design recommendations about Title 24 requirements and illumination levels. Within these parameters, we recommend lighting and controls that meet aesthetics, budgets and industry requirements.
BI:
At 16500 our Business Intelligence department primarily designs and builds data and analytics applications for all internal departments. By managing data resources and underlying infrastructure for internal and external products. This department also helps bridge the gap between the importance of data captures inside of a building from the lighting control to the complete building envelope.
IT:
At 16500, our IT department oversees establishing, monitoring, and maintaining information technology systems and services. They also provide support to our controls team on the integration of information technology (IT) systems with operational technology (OT) systems on many lighting/lighting control projects in the Bay Area. The IT departments help building owners understand the importance of having a digital copy of their building in this current wave of digital transformation.
Our Stock and Flow team works directly with distribution to ensure the receipt of timely information regarding product, pricing & availability for their stock and discretionary opportunities.
Our team consists of dedicated outside sales, quotes and order processing specialists.
They provide distributors with support in determining the best products for their inventory based on contractor and market demand. They further support through product & resource trainings, new product updates, quarterly inventory reviews, product showcases, and marketing/merchandising.
For discretionary (flow) opportunities, this team provides fixture & control options based on application description as well as pricing and availability. They enter all Stock and Flow orders, providing follow-up support. They also manage all post-sales services such as returns, claims, parts requests, and billing issues.

They identify and develop opportunities through higher efficiency fixtures, smarter design layouts, utility rebates, finance solutions, tax benefits, as well as code-compliant control strategies. They work with all levels of the supply chain; from end-user, to contractor, to distributor and manufacturer to ensure the desired outcome for the clients they’re supporting.
The Support Team makes sure that all the wheels are well oiled behind the scenes. We make sure the bills (both incoming and outgoing) are paid, the marketing and social media is updated, the electronic devices operating, the expenses paid, and the events planned.
